Review:
Trumpet-toting, retro-groove lovers Swing Republic have put out a public request for us to “fall in love with them”. Easy – we already have. Most notably on their debut album “Midnight Calling” last winter. Set to be a big festival monster, “Fall” comes armed with some of the screechiest jazz trumpets and scat-style vocal work you’ll hear all year. Remix-wise we find Tumult adding a jacking, finger-clicking Euro stomp and Vildbas throwing down a wild glitch riff. Lazlo’s remix of “High Hat”, meanwhile, rolls with a much softer skank and some heavenly acoustic guitar work. Bliss.
